Alvara Daganhart
Artist Note…
Alvara was a character initially conceptualized for a campaign one of my friends invited me to.
She was a human child kidnapped by fairies as a child and taken to the feywild, where the magic there took her soul, and fashioned her a new body with it.
At the time, she represented a cold loneliness I felt, even surrounded by people who loved me. She represented the creeping sense of emptiness that comes when you’re supposed to be fulfilled.
I’ll let you guess what kind of creature inspired her design.
That campaign never really panned out for me though, and she didn’t really get any playtime during that design.
However! I did eventually get to play her in a couple of other things. She was one of my main characters in a D&D oneshot server, until she was run out of the guild. After that I got to use her again in a roleplay with one of my now, long time friends, Nerd.
There, Allie really flourished. It was a time of healing in my life, I think, when I really started that roleplay with him (Nerd).
We had a big plot where Allie was a sort of nosey blogger who stumbled upon a vampire. She had lots of health issues, so her life expectancy left much to be desired, but with the help of her partner Hisao, they made the most out of it.
I find that sometimes, channeling a character might not be a form a venting, but healing instead. That was my experience with Allie at least. She has such a bright personality, and a hopeful outlook on life. A welcome little ray of moonlight during a long dark night.
